It sounds positive and exciting, doesn’t it? A whole year ahead of us, that can be filled with new resolutions, new habits, new people, new job maybe, new tasks, new projects, new places to visit.
At this time of the year we are surrounded by good intentions; stop smoking, lose weight, eat healthier, make that change we have talked about for a while. And there is a lot to do at work; closing the last year accounts and starting implementing the plans for the coming year. Can be overwhelming, can’t it?
So, why not: Stop, breathe, stretch – take a step back or a helicopter view and ask yourself “what do I really want to do?” What is most important, what will I prioritize and when will I do it? (The year has 12 months..) And at work, when others overload you, throw the ball back and ask them “what should I prioritize, what is most urgent?” Starting the business year feeling overwhelmed isn’t a good feeling, but you have the choice to push back and to take some distance to the stress. Staying zen will only help you to get the work done, in a healthy speed.
Wishing you a successful, healthy and happy 2012!
